New Ferritic Stainless Steel Coins of Rs. 2 denomination with the theme " NRITYA MUDRA"

The Reserve Bank of India will shortly put into circulation new Ferritic Stainless Steel Coins of Rs. 2 with the theme ' NRITYA MUDRA '.

The coins shall conform to the following dimensions, designs and compositions, namely :

Designs :

TWO RUPEES

OBVERSE : This face of the coin is divided into three portions with two horizontal lines. The centre portion shall bear the 'Lion Capitol' of Ashoka Pillar with the legend ' mel³ecesJe pe³eles ' inscribed below.

The top portion contains word ' Yeejle ' in Hindi and 'INDIA' in English. The bottom portion contains the Year in International Numerals.

REVERSE : This face of the coin contains visuals showing one of the ' Mudras ' of India's most famous classical dance 'Bharat Natyam', in centre right periphery and in centre left periphery denomination value '2' in International numerals, below that the word '©He³es' in Hindi and the word ' RUPEES ' in English.

The coin is a legal tender as provided in the Coinage Act, 1906. The existing Two Rupees Coins in circulation shall also continue to be legal tender.
